Each year, the nuclear - weapons of mass destruction - bombing of the cities of Hiroshima (August 6th, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9th, 1945) are ceremoniously remembered in Japan with lanterns of peace floating on rivers. Above is a photograph of a similar rememberence in Berkeley, California 2003.

Hello and good wishes to you,
Until now I have kept silent but now I am compelled to speak the truth and send out a message that needs to be heard by all men.
There is so much wrong in the world today. I have studied many religions and must say that all are fundamentally here to make humans better.
God is our judge and not the people around you. So please be careful about your choices, and no amount of praying will make evil actions acceptable to God.
Muslims, Catholics, Jews, Hindu, Buddhists and other denominations are all good if you understand their core beliefs.
Killing is wrong by all standards. Remember if you disagree with this, you too will face God.
Despite what each side thinks I have best friends that are Muslim, Jews and Christian and they are wonderful people and although they have differences I would trust them 100%.
Peace must prevail!!! You must stop all violence of all kinds. You must not let them win by forcing you to violence.
We all should want peace. America and most other countries are control by a few and they are the ones who manipulate the public. In the end it is the innocent people who are often targeted and suffer. Let’s work together to stop this. Remember there the child of God called Gandhi, he showed us the way…
All good Catholics and Muslims can see that peace and taking care of God’s earth and ALL his children is the most important task for humanity. The devil is not another person or country but the capacity for evil in us all. There exist no such thing as collateral loss of life. God will not accept this.
I love the acceptance of people of different races that the Catholics and Muslims have, and that we are one people under the sky and children that must spread peace and our message.
Killing is not the message any country, Religion, or Group should want to send to out to the universe; again you should know that God is watching us all.
We do not need an Army of God because we all know Armies and killing is evil.
We need people, the children of earth, to wake up and say I will follow a higher path and resist evil actions.
