Why is there back ground music in the interview?

Because according to studies "we" only have an attention span of three minutes, and the interview runs four minutes and fifty seconds.

Glad the podcast is working. Interesting piece, but the music distracted me from it. I thought there was something wrong with my computer. I would love to hear some background music next time there's a White House press briefing - that would be hillarious and oh so apt.
